Baseball Recap: Emmett Wins Going Away Against Caldwell

Emmett lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Caldwell, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Huskies blew past the Cougars 10-4 on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Ryder Scheibe made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Scheibe was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

In other pitching news, Logan Curtis tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Tucker Brown, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Layden Korell, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Emmett's victory bumped their record up to 2-10. As for Caldwell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-11.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Emmett is set to challenge their familiar foe Bishop Kelly at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing isn't great for the Huskies: they have been struggling with eight straight losses at home dating back to last season, while the Knights have snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. Meanwhile, Caldwell will face off against rival Columbia at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
