Baseball Game Preview: Pleasantville Greyhounds vs. St. Joseph Wildcats

Pleasantville is 0-10 against St. Joseph since April of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Greyhounds will host the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Pleasantville is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Pleasantville will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Clayton, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Greyhounds put the hurt on the Clippers with a sharp 9-2 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Greyhounds, who have now won four games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Buena hit St. Joseph with a eight-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chiefs. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Chiefs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Aidan Riley and Frank Somogy did some serious damage despite the final result: Riley went 2-for-3 with three runs, while Somogy went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Joziah Rivera also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Pleasantville's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for St. Joseph, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
