Baseball Recap: Geibel Catholic Comes Up Short

Geibel Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hillel Academy Heat.

Eahn Stevenson was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Geibel Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Hillel Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Geibel Catholic beat the Heat by a score of 2-1 on Monday.
