Football Game Preview: Indian Springs COYOTES vs. Pacific Pirates

Indian Springs and Pacific are an even 4-4 against one another since September of 2016, but not for long. The COYOTES are taking a road trip to take on the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pacific took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Indian Springs, who comes in off a win.

Indian Springs was handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against San Bernardino on Thursday. The COYOTES blew past the Cardinals 42-21. Considering the COYOTES have won three matchups by more than 20 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Nikolas Padilla was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 134 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 105 yards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (153).

Meanwhile, while it was Pacific who put the first points on the board on Friday, it was Miller who put up more. The Pirates and the Rebels were almost perfectly matched up, but the Pirates suffered a 14-13 loss. The contest marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Indian Springs has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.8 points over those games. As for Pacific, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.

Indian Springs was able to grind out a solid win over Pacific when the teams last played on October 10th, winning 28-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for the COYOTES since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
