Recap: Freedom Patriots vs. Apopka Blue Darters
The Freedom Patriots and the Apopka Blue Darters squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but sadly the Freedom Patriots had to settle for second. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 69-45 walloping at the hands of the Blue Darters. Freedom just can't catch a break and has now endured five defeats in a row.
Freedom's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan McNeal, who scored eight points along with four steals. McNeal is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Daniel Guttierez was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Freedom has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season. As for Apopka, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-11.
Freedom does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Apopka, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-53 loss vs. Evans on the 8th.
