Softball Game Preview: Liberty Patriots vs. Bothell Cougars

The Liberty Patriots will head out to take on the Bothell Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, Liberty came up short against Redmond and fell 7-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost six in a row.

Emi Connell was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Bothell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Juanita.

Kolbi Schmer and Noelle Solvang stepped up to the plate in a big way. Schmer went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Solvang went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was Solvang's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Hadley Smith, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Bothell's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Liberty, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

Liberty came up short against Bothell when the teams last played on April 2nd, falling 6-1. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
