Softball Game Preview: Gaston Greyhounds vs. Philomath Warriors

The Gaston Greyhounds will head out on the road to face off against the Philomath Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Gaston was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Santiam on Tuesday. Gaston put the hurt on Santiam with a sharp 16-4 win.

Meanwhile, Philomath made easy work of Amity on Tuesday and carried off a 13-6 victory.

Philomath got a massive performance out of Hailey Smith, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Sierra Skaggs, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Philomath always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Gaston's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Philomath, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
