Softball Game Preview: Biloxi Indians vs. Ocean Springs Greyhounds

Biloxi hasn't had much luck against Ocean Springs recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Indians will welcome the Greyhounds at 6:30 p.m. Biloxi is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

On Saturday, Biloxi beat Picayune 8-5.

Kylie Mckay spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Symaria (Sammie) Edmond, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Imani Shannon was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Ocean Springs was able to grind out a solid win over St. Martin on Thursday, taking the game 14-10.

Taylor Farra and K'Lee Gum did most of the damage at the plate: Farra fired off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-4, while Gum went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Kerrigan Scott, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Biloxi's victory bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Ocean Springs, they now have a winning record of 14-13.
