Football Recap: Boyertown Takes a Loss

Boyertown fell victim to Spring-Ford and their airtight defense on Saturday. They took a blow against the Rams, falling 28-0. If the Bears were looking for revenge after losing 31-6 to the Rams when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Gavin Royce threw for 30 yards while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Brayden Hinkle had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 253 yards and four scores while picking up 14.1 yards per carry for Spring-Ford. With that strong performance, Hinkle is now averaging an impressive 113.3 rushing yards per game.

This is the second loss in a row for Boyertown and nudges their season record down to 4-4. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-1 Owen J. Roberts (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 67.9% over those games). As for Spring-Ford, the victory also got them back to even at 4-4.

Boyertown wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-13 win against Norristown on the 17th. As for Spring-Ford, they have also already played their next contest, a 21-9 victory against Owen J. Roberts on the 17th.
