Baseball Recap: St. Edward Beats Westminster Christian for Their Fourth Straight Victory

With a playoff win on the line, St. Edward rose to the challenge on Saturday. They came out on top against the Westminster Christian Warriors by a score of 7-3. This was a revenge game for the Green Wave: when they faced off against the Warriors back in April, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

Joseph DuSell looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, St. Edward's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Zach Wojtas, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That home run marked the first that Wojtas has launched this season. Anthony Leadley was another, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

The victory was the fourth in a row for St. Edward, bringing their record up to 5-26. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Westminster Christian, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-13-1.

As of now, neither St. Edward nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
