Softball Game Preview: Catholic vs. McDonogh Eagles

Catholic hasn't had much luck against McDonogh recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Catholic will host McDonogh at 3:45 p.m. Catholic will be strutting in after a win while McDonogh will be coming in after a loss.

Catholic is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over Mount de Sales Academy on Thursday. The game was the first time Catholic has beaten Mount de Sales Academy on their field since April 5, 2023.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for McDonogh's offense. They lost 8-0 to John Carroll on Thursday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Catholic's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for McDonogh, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Everything went Catholic's way against McDonogh in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, as Catholic made off with a 10-0 victory. Will Catholic repeat their success, or does McDonogh has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
