Softball Preview: Borden Braves vs. Clarksville Generals
The Borden Braves are taking a road trip to challenge the Clarksville Generals at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Clarksville took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Borden, who comes in off a win.
Borden hadn't beaten Providence on the road since April 7, 2016 but that history sure didn't bother them last Monday. The Braves put the hurt on the Pioneers with a sharp 9-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Braves.
Meanwhile, Clarksville came up short against New Washington on Monday, falling 16-2. The Generals haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Borden pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Clarksville, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
