Basketball Game Preview: Lutheran Cougars vs. Hannibal Pirates

The Lutheran Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the Hannibal Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lutheran is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Missouri's top teams: Principia, who was ranked 12th at the time (Lutheran was ranked third). Lutheran fell 51-42 to Principia on Monday. The match marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Hannibal entered their contest against Mexico back in December of 2024 without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Hannibal took a 66-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mexico.

Hannibal's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2. As for Lutheran, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-2 record.
