After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Poly, Chavez was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Arleta Mustangs. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won four in a row.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as three sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-21, 24-26, 28-26, 15-11.

Chavez's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Arleta, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Looking ahead, Chavez will head out on the road to square off against Grant at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Lancers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Arleta, they will face off against Monroe at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
