Baseball Recap: Ridgefield Park Victorious

Ridgefield Park won the last time they faced Dumont and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Scarlets narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Huskies 5-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Scarlets.

The team relied heavily on Jason Alvarado, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Clement, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Ridgefield Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Ridgefield Park now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Dumont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgefield Park will challenge Mahwah at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Dumont, they will head out to face off against Ramsey at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
