Soccer Game Preview: Fort Bend Marshall vs. Lamar Consolidated

Fort Bend Marshall hasn't had much luck against Lamar Consolidated recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Fort Bend Marshall Buffalos will head out on the road to face off against the Lamar Consolidated Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Fort Bend Marshall is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Friday. They lost 5-0 to Terry. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Buffalos couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Lamar Consolidated has been on a difficult stretch since their win on January 28. They fell 3-1 to Terry on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 506th, while the Rangers are ranked 43rd).

Fort Bend Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Lamar Consolidated, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Fort Bend Marshall suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Lamar Consolidated in their previous matchup back in January. Can Fort Bend Marshall avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
