Volleyball Recap: Lyons Wins High-Profile Contest Against New Trier

Lyons faced New Trier in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Lions skirted past the Trevians 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lyons has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for New Trier, they moved to 12-4 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lyons will welcome Downers Grove North at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for New Trier, they will square off against Glenbrook South at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
