Basketball Recap: Marcellus Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Marcellus took on Bloomingdale on Friday. The Marcellus Wildcats lost to the Bloomingdale Cardinals on the road by a 62-43 margin. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 69-42.

When it comes to explaining why Marcellus lost, don't look at Beau Ferguson. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 19 en route to 24 points and eight boards. Ferguson continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Marcellus has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Bloomingdale, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marcellus will challenge Martin at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bloomingdale, they will take on Comstock at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Bloomingdale is facing Comstock at the right time seeing as Comstock is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
