Soccer Game Preview: Mt. Mansfield vs. Colchester

The Mt. Mansfield Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Colchester Lakers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Mansfield's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Colchester's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Mt. Mansfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Burr & Burton, who was ranked 21st at the time (Mt. Mansfield was ranked second). The Cougars never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Saturday. Mt. Mansfield haven't had any issues with Burr & Burton recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Colchester had just enough and edged out Essex 3-2 on Saturday.

Colchester now has a winning record of 5-4-1. As for Mt. Mansfield, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Everything went Mt. Mansfield's way against Colchester in their previous meeting back in September, as Mt. Mansfield made off with a 4-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
