Football Game Preview: Northbridge Rams vs. Millbury Woolies

The Northbridge Rams are taking a road trip to challenge the Millbury Woolies at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Northbridge has four straight wins, Millbury has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Northbridge made easy work of Nipmuc Regional and carried off a 28-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won five matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.

Joel Lachapelle was his usual excellent self, throwing for 201 yards and a pair of TDs, while also rushing for 69 yards and one score on only seven carries. Another player making a difference was Morodney Daigle, who gained 100 total yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Millbury came up short against Bay Path RVT on Friday and fell 35-28.

Northbridge will have to keep a close watch on Aiden Phillipo and Matteus Mateo, a pair of players who had a big impact on Millbury's prior game. Phillipo picked up 254 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Mateo threw for 338 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt.

Northbridge's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Millbury, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Northbridge didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Millbury in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 19-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
