Softball Preview: Western Reserve Roughriders vs. Monroeville Eagles

Western Reserve is 0-10 against Monroeville since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Western Reserve Roughriders will head out on the road to face off against the Monroeville Eagles at 5:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Western Reserve came up short against South Central and fell 5-2. Western Reserve has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Western Reserve saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makayla Case, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a double.

Meanwhile, Monroeville was not the first on the board last Tuesday, but they got there more often. They skirted past Crestview 4-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Monroeville.

Emily Scheid was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. Scheid was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and a double.
