Volleyball Recap: Hillcrest Comes Up Short

If Hillcrest was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Bolivar on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hornets lost 3-0 to the Webb City Cardinals on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Hornets in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost four in a row.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-14, 25-14.

Alyssa Brison paced Hillcrest's offense, picking up six kills. Brison got some help from KeAshza Roy and her 14 assists.

Hillcrest's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-20-2. As for Webb City, they pushed their record up to 23-10 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

As of now, neither Hillcrest nor the Cardinals have any future games scheduled.
