Basketball Recap: Bloomfield's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Bloomfield lost against St. Mary back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bloomfield Bees took a 50-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Mary's Cardinals. The Bees have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Bees players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madyson Mlady, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. Mlady is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kora Poppe, who posted 11 points.

Pyper Ickes continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for St. Mary's, putting up 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Emerson Mlnarik, who had nine points and three blocks.

Bloomfield's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5. As for St. Mary's, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Bloomfield will take on Plainview at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Mary's, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the St. Mary's Cardinals challenge the Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Mary's is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.7 points per game this season.
