Basketball Recap: Hancock's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

If Faith Christian Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Hancock, they should've done a better job of containing Jacob Anderson. The Hancock Panthers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Faith Christian Academy Falcons 60-58 thanks in part to Anderson, who posted 22 points and three steals. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden McCarty, who earned 12 points in addition to five boards and three blocks. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

When it comes to explaining why Faith Christian Academy lost on Thursday, don't look at Carter Young. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 14 on his way to 23 points. Mason Altier was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven rebounds.

With the win, Hancock broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5. As for Faith Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.

Hancock wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 73-40 victory against Shanksville Stonycreek on the 24th. As for Faith Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-35 loss against Heritage Academy on the 24th.
