Baseball Recap: Alcona Takes a Loss

Alcona couldn't beat Tawas Area on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fourth inning. The Tigers came up short against the Braves, falling 14-5. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Braves: they've now lost six in a row.

Brandon Fogle made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Alcona's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Tawas Area, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Alcona will venture away from home to challenge Whittemore-Prescott at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tawas Area, they will face off against Heston Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17 runs per game on average), something the Braves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
