Preview: Point Loma Pointers vs. Scripps Ranch Falcons
The Point Loma Pointers will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Scripps Ranch Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Point Loma has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 131 points over their last three contests.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Point Loma walked away with it. They walked away with a 43-35 win over San Pasqual on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Brady Allen was his usual excellent self, rushing for 172 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also throwing for 83 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Canon Ogden also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Scripps Ranch earned a 20-13 victory over Mission Bay two weeks ago. The win made it back-to-back wins for Scripps Ranch.
Point Loma pushed their record up to 7-4 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points per game. As for Scripps Ranch, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Point Loma took a serious blow against Scripps Ranch when the teams last played back in October of 2021, falling 48-14. Can Point Loma avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
