Basketball Recap: Maeser Prep Academy Comes Up Short

If Maeser Prep Academy was feeling good fresh off their 50-26 takedown of St. Joseph last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions had to suffer through a 65-14 loss at the hands of the Tabiona Tigers. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-8.

Lillian Nolan was Maeser Prep Academy's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Nolan also led the team in rebounds with four. Klea Bokshi took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Maecie Hagman had a dynamite game For Tabiona., shooting 75% from the field en route to 18 points and six rebounds. Hagman has also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: she's posted one of at least 70% every time she's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kaidence Pippy, who posted nine points and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Maeser Prep Academy fell to 3-1. As for Tabiona, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Maeser Prep Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 46-17 loss against Manila on the 5th. As for Tabiona, they will challenge Green River at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers will be up against the Pirates' rather soft defense (which has allowed 55 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
