            Baseball Preview: Lincoln Lions vs. Cumberland Clippers        
        
		
        
        
            The Lincoln Lions are taking a road trip to  take on the Cumberland Clippers  at 4:45  p.m.  on Friday.
On Thursday, Lincoln didn't have quite enough to beat La Salle Academy and fell  4-3. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Logan Xiarhos was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  tossed six innings while giving up  three earned runs off   four  hits.
 On the hitting side,  Caden Oldham made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 3-for-4 with one  stolen base and one  run. That  stolen base was  his first of the season.
Meanwhile, Cumberland had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They walked away with  a   7-2  win over the Huskies. Seven seems to be a good number for the Clippers as the  team scooped up a  victory with the same number of  runs in their previous game.
 Marcus Gomes tossed a big game,   tossing six innings while giving up just two earned runs off   six  hits. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-high in  strikeouts (four).
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Tyler Hurteau, who  went 2-for-3 with two  runs and one  double. Another player making a difference was  Gabriel Niman, who  went 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  run.
 Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Cumberland, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with the  win, which was their third straight  at home.
