Football Recap: Brooks Extends Winning Streak to Three + How To Watch

Brooks had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They strolled past the Lauderdale County Tigers with points to spare, taking the game 38-21. The Lions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Tanner Bowens was his usual excellent self, rushing for 157 yards and two TDs on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 212 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt. 106 of those passing yards were hauled in by Samuel Hamner, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Brooks was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 236 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 236 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Brooks' defense and their three sacks. In that department, Bam Campbell was the leader with two. Charlie Buttram was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 17 total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Despite the loss, Lauderdale County still got an impressive performance from Calvin Watkins, who rushed for 48 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 75 yards and one TD.

Brooks now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lauderdale County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Brooks is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Danville at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Lauderdale County, they will head out to face off against Clements at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
