Soccer Recap: Cocoa Beach's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

If Cocoa Beach was feeling good fresh off their 5-2 takedown of Merritt Island last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cocoa Beach Minutemen fell just short of the Viera Hawks by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Minutemen haven't been shut out since back in December of 2024.

The defeat snapped Cocoa Beach's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-3-1 record. As for Viera, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.

Cocoa Beach will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Astronaut at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th. As for Viera, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 0-0 draw against Satellite on the 17th.
