Baseball Recap: New Brunswick Zebra vs. Carteret Ramblers

New Brunswick kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell victim to a rough 10-0 loss at the hands of the Carteret Ramblers. New Brunswick has not had much luck with Carteret recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

For Carteret's part, Eric Thompson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Thompson was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, Jared Nelan was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was James Rodriguez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

The victory got Carteret back to even at 1-1.
