Baseball Recap: Polytechnic Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Polytechnic can now relate to. They fell just short of the Santa Paula Cardinals by a score of 5-4 on Friday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.

Mark Hiddleson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Polytechnic's defeat dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Santa Paula, their win bumped their record up to 13-16.

Polytechnic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Santa Paula, they will challenge Fontana at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Steelers will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight.
