Basketball Game Preview: Tilden Blue Devils vs. Victoria Soto Wolves

Tilden is on a five-game streak of home losses also dating back to last season, Victoria Soto a seven-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Tilden Blue Devils will welcome the Victoria Soto Wolves at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tilden came up short against Kelly on Tuesday, falling 59-37.

Meanwhile, Victoria Soto played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Back of the Yards College Prep 66-27. The Wolves were down 63-24 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Tilden will have to contain Damian Melgoza as he made an impact in Victoria Soto's last game. He posted seven points.

Even though they lost, Victoria Soto smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Victoria Soto now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Tilden, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything came up roses for Tilden against Victoria Soto when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 62-24 win. Will Tilden repeat their success, or does Victoria Soto have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
