The Mid Valley Spartans will face off against the Scranton Prep Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mid Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

Mid Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Greater Nanticoke Area get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. Considering the Spartans have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Nick Mills, who fired off two home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-3. That's the most home runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Balashaitis, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Scranton Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over Valley View on Tuesday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Johnny Petrosky spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Paul Rusincovitch was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for Scranton Prep: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-11 otherwise.

Mid Valley's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Scranton Prep, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.
