Softball Game Preview: Jayton Jaybirds vs. Hamlin Pied Pipers

The Jayton Jaybirds are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against the Hamlin Pied Pipers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Jayton has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with seven straight defeats, while Hamlin will come in with four straight wins.

Jayton came up short against Hamlin on Tuesday, falling 15-3.

For Hamlin's part, Piper Sepeda made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. With that strong performance, Sepeda is now averaging an impressive 5.3 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Hamlin let Mea Reyes and Dariana Lee run wild. Jayton's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hamlin, their record is now 8-9.
