Baseball Recap: Mingus Comes Up Short

Mingus scored first but ultimately less than Lee Williams in their contest on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Volunteers by a score of 11-10. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Volunteers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-1 on Wednesday.

Derrick Alvarez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

This is the second loss in a row for Mingus and nudges their season record down to 4-10-1. As for Lee Williams, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season.

Mingus didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-3 defeat against Bradshaw Mountain on the 28th. As for Lee Williams, they will face off against Flagstaff at 11:00 a.m. on the 5th. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Volunteers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
