Baseball Game Preview: Skowhegan River Hawks vs. Edward Little Red Eddies

The Skowhegan River Hawks will face off against the Edward Little Red Eddies at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Edward Little took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Skowhegan, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Skowhegan was able to grind out a solid victory over Nokomis, taking the game 6-2. The River Hawks haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Jason Aubin made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Aubin wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Austin, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits Austin has posted since back in May of 2024. Another was Jackson Hight, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Meanwhile, Edward Little was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 5-2 to Greely.

Skowhegan now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Edward Little, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
