Baseball Recap: Shady Side Academy Comes Up Short

Shady Side Academy was the 4-3 winner over Deer Lakes when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs fell 4-1 to the Lancers on Friday.

Ty McCaskey was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run.

Shady Side Academy has also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Deer Lakes, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Coming up, Shady Side Academy will venture away from home to square off against East Allegheny at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs are facing the Wild Cats at the right time seeing as the Wild Cats are stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Deer Lakes, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Burrell at 4:00 p.m.
