Baseball Game Preview: Frontier Falcons vs. Clarence Red Devils

The Frontier Falcons will take on the Clarence Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Frontier will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Frontier barely beat Iroquois the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons blew past the Redhawks 9-3 on Saturday. The Falcons not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1st (when they won 8-0).

Owen Stoehr looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Evan Sullivan was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Gombos, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Frontier kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.6.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Clarence, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 13-9 win over Canisius on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Red Devils considering their one-run performance the match before.

Clarence pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Frontier, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
