Basketball Recap: Warhill Takes a Loss

Warhill was the 46-27 winner over Tabb when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Warhill Lions were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 41-40 to the Tabb Tigers.

Warhill's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was D'Shela Walker, who went 6 for 14 on her way to 25 points. That was a full 62.5% of Warhill's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Taleah James was another key player, putting up seven points and 13 rebounds.

Warhill's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Tabb, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Warhill Lions challenge the Bruton Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tabb has already played their next match (against Poquoson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
