Basketball Recap: 21st Century Charter's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It was a good run, but 21st Century Charter unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Father Tolton by a score of 68-65. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cougars have suffered since December 15, 2023.

21st Century Charter lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Terrence Hayes, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 15 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Hayes has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 17 times he's played. Lemetrius Williams was another key player, going 8 for 14 en route to 19 points and five boards.

21st Century Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Father Tolton, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.

21st Century Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 57-46 victory against University City on the 20th. As for Father Tolton, they are taking a road trip to square off against Staley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
