Baseball Recap: Halifax Academy Takes a Loss

Halifax Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Kerr-Vance Academy Spartans, falling 19-3. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 6-2.

Halifax Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Burr, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Burr is becoming a predictor of the Vikings' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-8 when he doesn't).

Halifax Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Kerr-Vance Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8.

Coincidentally, Halifax Academy and Kerr-Vance Academy will both be playing Harrells Christian Academy the next time they take the field. The Spartans will head out to face the Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Vikings will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th.
