Volleyball Game Preview: Frederick A. Douglass Bobcats vs. Haynes Academy

For the first time this season, Frederick A. Douglass will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will take on Haynes Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Frederick A. Douglass has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Haynes Academy will arrive with four straight wins.

Frederick A. Douglass came up short against John Ehret on Thursday, falling 3-0.

If Riverside Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Haynes Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Ella Feehan. Haynes Academy walked away with a 3-1 victory over Riverside Academy on Thursday for which the team can thank Feehan, who had 27 digs and two aces. She has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last five times she's played.

Haynes Academy walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 21-25, 25-17, 25-21.

Haynes Academy's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Frederick A. Douglass, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.

Frederick A. Douglass suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Haynes Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2024.
