Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ellington). They blew past the Westwood Baptist Academy Eagles 71-24 on Thursday. Ellington's win was all the more impressive since the Eagles were averaging only 29.82 points allowed on the season.

Peytin Martin and Taryn Kirkley certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Martin posted six points, while Kirkley put up four points and three steals.

Ellington's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Westwood Baptist Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.

Ellington will challenge Twin Rivers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westwood Baptist Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Holcomb at 7:15 p.m. on February 10th. Westwood Baptist Academy's defense has only allowed 29.8 points per game this season, so Holcomb's offense will have their work cut out for them.
