Volleyball Recap: Campo Verde Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Highland

Campo Verde faced Highland in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Coyotes lost 3-0 to the Hawks. The Coyotes have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-11, 25-17.

Morgan Meyer paced Campo Verde's offense, picking up eight kills. Meyer got some help from Riley Swezey and her 14 assists.

Camryn Thruston was nothing short of spectacular for Highland: she had 14 digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Thruston a new career-high. Jolie Brown also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Campo Verde's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Highland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Campo Verde will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Higley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Highland, they will welcome Mountain View at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
