Basketball Recap: Digital Pioneers Academy Wins High-Profile Game Against SEED DC

On Thursday, Digital Pioneers Academy faced SEED DC in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Digital Pioneers Academy Pythons managed a 68-62 victory over SEED DC. That's more bragging rights for the Pythons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Digital Pioneers Academy found their leader in freshman Amarii Bondale, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for Bondale. Kweli Imani-Woods was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine assists.

Digital Pioneers Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, SEED DC still got an impressive performance from Terry Hutchinson, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 20 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Mercer, who posted 16 points.

Digital Pioneers Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for SEED DC, they moved to 8-3 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Digital Pioneers Academy will head out to take on Maret at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for SEED DC, they will take on SEED at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in SEED DC's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
