Basketball Recap: Bastrop Finds Playoff Glory Versus Breaux Bridge

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Bastrop had no problem doing just that on Friday. They claimed a resounding 87-39 win over the Breaux Bridge Tigers. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 21 points or more this season.

Bastrop had a senior duo take command as Lebron Deal went 7-for-10 from beyond the arc en route to 33 points along with eight assists and eight steals and Antron Mason II shot 60% from the field to rack up 26 points in addition to seven assists and seven steals. Mason II is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Devin Tyson was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Bastrop has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.3 points over those games. Breaux Bridge has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-22 record this season.

Bastrop will welcome Northwest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Bastrop surely won't give up without a fight. Breaux Bridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
