Flag Football Recap: Mountain View Piles Up the Points Against Mesa

While Mountain View put up plenty of points on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Mesa. The Toros took their game with ease, bagging a 39-0 win over the Jackrabbits. The Toros might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 28 points or more this season.

TIERAH METCALF produced another solid effort throwing for 189 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes, while also rushing for 124 yards and one TD on only nine carries. A healthy portion of METCALF's aerial production (121 yards to be exact) went to EMMA FISCHBECK, who also brought in four receiving touchdowns.

Mountain View didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as FISCHBECK, EVE DENTON, and JADE URKOV picked up one apiece. DENTON got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Mountain View's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.8 points over those games. As for Mesa, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mountain View beat Mesa by a score of 18-7 on Thursday.
