Basketball Recap: Oelwein Comes Up Short

Oelwein was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were dealt an 80-51 defeat at the hands of the Gladbrook-Reinbeck Rebels. If the Huskies were looking for revenge after losing 64-31 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Oelwein's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Gladbrook-Reinbeck, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Oelwein will host New Hampton at 7:45 p.m. on February 14th. As for Gladbrook-Reinbeck, they will head out on the road to face off against Union at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. Gladbrook-Reinbeck knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Union likes a good challenge.
