Edmonson County let Franklin-Simpson stack eight runs on them in the sixth inning on Thursday but luckily Edmonson County prevailed anyway. Edmonson County skirted past Franklin-Simpson 13-12. This was a revenge game for Edmonson County: when they faced off against Franklin-Simpson back in March, they had to take a 4-1 loss.

Haley Sanders and Jolee Vincent did most of the damage at the plate: Sanders got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run, while Vincent got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Davis, who earned two RBI and one run.

The win got Edmonson County back to even at 12-12. As for Franklin-Simpson, they dropped their record down to 12-15 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Edmonson County will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Monroe County. The Wildcats are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Franklin-Simpson, they will head out to face off against Allen County-Scottsville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
